Job summary

Carters, Inc. in Hastings, East Sussex is seeking a skilled Fire & Security Engineer to service, maintain and repair fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems.

The role involves travelling across the South East to domestic and commercial sites, supervising junior engineers, and assisting with commissioning and small works. A full UK driving licence and relevant qualifications (TAVCOM, FIA, ECS, IPAF, PASMA) are required.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background within the fire & security sector, with experience on fire detection, CCTV, alarms and access control systems.
• Experience with installations, commissioning or servicing on fire extinguishers is desirable.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Live within commutable distance of Hastings, East Sussex for occasional office visits.
• Qualifications such as TAVCOM, FIA, ECS Card, IPAF, PASMA.

Responsibilities

• Completing servicing, maintenance and emergency repairs on fire and security systems including fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms and access controls.
• Following up with remedial small works highlighted during routine servicing.
• Travelling to domestic and commercial client sites across the south coast.
• Overseeing junior and apprentice engineers, providing technical assistance where needed.

Location: Hastings, East Sussex

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 (DOE)

Fire & Security Engineer Job Overview

Fire & Security Engineer Salary & Benefits

• Basic salary £36,000 - £40,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience
• Company vehicle provided with travel paid after 30 minutes each way
• Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm (30 minute lunch break)
• Four day on call rota, with daily retainers paid (increasing for weekends/bank holidays)
• 28 days holiday, including bank holidays
