Job summary

Optima Site Solutions is recruiting an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join a contractor delivering fire and security solutions across commercial and industrial environments in Portsmouth.

The role covers planned maintenance, reactive fault finding, system installations and on-call cover, working with IP networks and a range of fire and security technologies. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years' experience within fire and/or security engineering.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Good time management and logical fault-finding ability.
• Working knowledge of IP and IT networking.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of fire and security systems

Salary: £35,000–£48,000 per annum, depending on experience

Optima Site Solutions is recruiting an experienced
Fire & Security Engineer on behalf of an established contractor delivering fire and security solutions across commercial and industrial environments.

The Role

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of fire and security systems
• Reactive call-outs, fault finding and repairs
• Diagnosing faults and providing safe, compliant solutions
• Completing remedial works and system installations
• Working across fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems
• Providing clear technical updates to customers and site contacts
• Completing accurate service reports and documentation
• Participating in the on-call rota, approximately 1 week in every 3You will work with a range of established fire and security manufacturers and technologies, with training available on selected systems where required.

Essential Requirements

• At least 4 years' experience within fire and/or security engineering
• Experience servicing, maintaining and fault finding fire and/or security systems
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills
• Good time management and logical fault-finding ability
• Working knowledge of IP and IT networking

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

• The following would be beneficial but are not essential:
• IPAF certification
• Wireless fire alarm system experience
• Experience with Hyfire and/or Sygno-fi systems
• SSSTS qualification
• Asbestos Awareness certification
• AOV system experienceTraining is available for selected qualifications and systems.
