Job summary

Magenta International invites an experienced Fire Alarm Estimator to join our West Sussex team. You will own estimating and tendering across commercial, industrial, and residential fire alarm projects, delivering accurate quotations and ensuring competitive pricing.

The role requires a Level 3 FIA qualification, strong knowledge of fire alarm design and surveying, and excellent communication. You will liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams to drive successful bids and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with fire alarm systems in estimating, design, engineering or surveying.
• Level 3 FIA qualification is essential.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm design, surveying and estimating processes.
• Experience estimating within the Fire & Security industry.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and produce high-quality quotations within tight timescales.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• CAD experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Collaborative attitude with a team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit detailed quotations and tender returns for fire alarm and associated life safety systems.
• Ensure all estimates are accurate, commercially competitive, and aligned with project requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Produce project budgets, cost plans, and pricing schedules.
• Liaise closely with Senior Management and the Sales Team to support business growth and tender success.
• Take overall responsibility for the costing and commercial evaluation of quotations and bid submissions.
• Manage incoming enquiries and tenders, ensuring deadlines are met and opportunities are maximised.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, and survey information to develop compliant system proposals.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Estimator to join our growing team based in West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable fire industry professional to take ownership of estimating and tendering activities across a diverse range of commercial, industrial, and residential fire alarm projects.

You will play a key role in producing accurate and competitive quotations, managing tender submissions, and working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience working with fire alarm systems in an estimating, design, engineering, or surveying capacity.
• A Level 3 FIA qualification (essential).
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm system design, surveying, and estimating processes.
• Previous experience estimating within the Fire & Security industry.
• The ability to manage multiple tenders and produce high-quality quotations within tight timescales.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• A highly organised and methodical approach to work.
• A stable career background demonstrating reliability, commitment, and professionalism.
• CAD experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
• A collaborative attitude with a strong team-focused approach.
