Job summary

Progroup Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Estimator to join our growing team in Crawley. You will prepare competitive quotations for fire alarm systems and related security projects, build accurate budgets, and manage tender deadlines.

You will liaise with developers, contractors, suppliers, and clients, ensuring estimates align with project specs. FIA Level 3 is essential, and CAD knowledge is a plus; Excel proficiency is required; strong teamwork and communication

Qualifications

• Experience as a Fire & Security Estimator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and estimating processes.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and related tools.

• Prepare accurate project budgets and cost plans.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Estimator to join a growing and well-established business specialising in fire protection solutions across the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable estimator with a strong background in fire alarm systems and tender management to play a key role in securing and delivering high-quality projects. Working closely with Senior Management and the Sales team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive quotations while maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce, review, and submit competitive quotations and tender returns.
• Prepare accurate project budgets and cost plans.
• Assess incoming tender opportunities and manage quotation deadlines effectively.
• Liaise with developers, contractors, suppliers, and clients throughout the estimating process.
• Work collaboratively with Senior Management and the External Sales team.

About You

• Previous experience in a Fire & Security Estimator position.
• Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems gained through engineering, design, or estimating roles.
• FIA Level 3 qualification (essential).
• A solid understanding of fire system surveying, design, and estimating processes.
• The ability to manage multiple tenders and produce accurate quotations to tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• A stable employment history demonstrating reliability and commitment.
• CAD experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• A positive attitude and strong team-player mentality.
