Job summary

Valoris is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer to install, maintain, test and fault-find on fire alarm systems across multiple sites in Lancashire. The role requires strong UK fire-safety knowledge and experience with conventional, addressable and wireless systems.

Applicants should have at least five years' experience, FIA certifications, and a professional, safety-focused approach. A company van is provided with optional personal use and extensive leave benefits are included.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Fire Alarm Engineer

Location: Lancashire

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annul, depending on experience

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing and fault-finding on fire alarm systems across a range of sites. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a thorough understanding of UK fire-safety standards and experience working with conventional, addressable and wireless systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission fire alarm systems.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Test conventional, addressable and wireless fire alarm systems.
• Complete system modifications and upgrades.
• Ensure all work complies with BS 5839 and current fire-safety legislation.
• Produce accurate service reports, test records and certification.
• Identify system defects, compliance issues and recommended remedial work.
• Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives.
• Maintain the company vehicle, tools and equipment provided.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A minimum of five years' experience installing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
• Strong knowledge of UK fire alarm standards and regulations, including BS 5839.
• Good knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
• Experience working with conventional, addressable and wireless fire alarm systems.
• Relevant qualifications, such as FIA certifications or a recognized equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience.
• 24 days' annual leave, excluding bank holidays.
• Increased annual leave following three full years of service.
• Company van with optional personal use.
• Company sick pay comprising six weeks' full pay followed by six weeks' half pay. The first three days of any sickness absence are paid at Statutory Sick Pay.
