We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive fire alarm engineer with an in-depth knowledge of both commercial & domestic fire alarm systems. A dedicated individual is preferred in order to help the company continue to grow and service new and existing client bases.
Job Description:
As a fire alarm engineer, you will be required to service, maintain and at times install fire alarm systems as part of day-to-day activities. Installation & servicing of emergency lighting systems will also be required as part of day-to-day duties.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Administrative tasks such as answering and directing phone calls and emails.
- Collating and providing evidence to clients and senior team members
- Organising and scheduling appointments for fire safety inspections and training sessions
- Maintaining and updating client records and compliance documentation
- Assisting in the preparation of fire safety reports and compliance certificates
- Managing office supplies and equipment
- Coordinating with fire safety inspectors and clients to ensure timely service delivery
- Handling email correspondence and distributing memos, letters, and reports.
- Assisting with the preparation of regularly scheduled compliance reports
- Developing and maintaining a filing system for compliance documentation
- Providing general administrative support to the team.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years’ proven experience of working on both domestic & commercial fire alarm systems, must have experience of working on both ‘addressable & conventional’ fire alarm systems.
- Fire alarm experience must include installation work and replacement works. An extensive knowledge of fault finding is required. Good knowledge of BS 5839 parts 1 & 6.
- Must have at least 3 years of proven experience working with emergency lighting systems and be capable of carrying out installations & replacements of emergency lighting systems. Good knowledge of BS 5266.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete service reports, certificates, and documentation accurately.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies at all times.
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, in particular)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Familiarity with fire safety compliance regulations and terminology is a plus.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Salary starting from £38,000 (DOE) with potential for performance related bonus
