JLB Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to service, maintain, fault-find and repair fire alarm systems across commercial, industrial and residential sites in the UK. You will ensure work meets BS5839 and company procedures.

The role offers a competitive salary of £35,000–£48,000 DOE, a company vehicle and fuel card, overtime and call-out pay, a pension, and opportunities for training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service or Maintenance Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g. Advanced, Kentec, Gent, Morley, Hochiki, Apollo, etc.).
• Understanding of BS5839 and other relevant standards.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and related life safety equipment.
• Carry out routine inspections and testing in accordance with relevant standards.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete service reports, certificates, and documentation accurately.
• Provide technical support and advice to customers.
• Participate in an on‑call rota for emergency callouts (additional allowance paid).
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies at all times.

About the Role

Requirements

• Essential:
• Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service or Maintenance Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g. Advanced, Kentec, Gent, Morley, Hochiki, Apollo, etc.).
• Understanding of BS5839 and other relevant standards.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Desirable:
• FIA training modules (Units1–4 or equivalent).
• Experience with addressable and conventional systems.
• Knowledge of emergency lighting and smoke ventilation systems.
