Job summary

Cardstream, a leading fintech, is seeking a proactive Software Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure reliability, security and performance of its payment platform. You will own quality across rapid releases, blending automated and manual testing with a strong emphasis on risk reduction and scalable test strategies.

You will work with engineers, product managers and external partners to translate requirements into robust test plans, contribute to design reviews, and help embed QA best practices

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Quality Assurance or Software Testing role within a software delivery environment.
• Understanding of JavaScript and how it applies to test automation.
• Working knowledge of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and writing meaningful, readable test scenarios.
• Strong test analysis, preparation, and execution skills across the full testing lifecycle.
• Ability to break down requirements to user-story level and identify edge cases and risk areas.
• A pragmatic, detail-driven mindset with the ability to balance quality with delivery.
• Ability to work within existing processes while constructively challenging and improving them.

Responsibilities

• Act as final quality checkpoint between test environments and live production systems with focus on risk, stability and customer impact.
• Identify issues early in delivery, communicate risks, and propose pragmatic mitigations to keep releases on track.
• Translate requirements into scalable, maintainable test strategies and suites with internal teams and external partners.
• Participate in feature design and requirements reviews to ensure testability and observability.
• Own end-to-end product quality including defect lifecycle management and escalation of critical issues.
• Design, execute and maintain automated and manual tests including regression testing across frequent releases.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks to improve coverage and delivery speed.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Help define and embed QA best practices across teams, tools, and processes.
