Job summary

Hays Recruitment is seeking a FinOps & Cloud Cost Manager for our London offices. You will own end-to-end FinOps across cloud, internal IT, and telecom services, partnering with engineering, finance, procurement, and vendors to drive cost transparency and measurable savings.

The role combines hands-on cost analytics with leadership to influence consumption, optimise spend, and implement showback/chargeback models across multi-million-pound tech spend.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in FinOps/cloud cost management
• Ownership of cost optimisation initiatives with measurable savings
• Experience building and managing showback/chargeback models
• Strong capability in forecasting, budgeting, and cost modelling
• Experience working with engineering teams to influence consumption
• Experience challenging vendors on cost and commercial outcomes
• Direct cost optimisation outcomes experience is required

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end FinOps and cost optimisation across cloud, internal IT, and global telco services
• Lead development of cost transparency, financial governance, and optimisation strategies
• Partner with engineering, finance, procurement, and vendors to ensure cost efficiency
• Design and manage showback/chargeback models to improve accountability
• Influence senior stakeholders and embed FinOps best practices
