Job summary

Caval is seeking a Finishing Foreman for a University Refurbishment project in Manchester. You will lead finishing trades, supervise subcontractors, and ensure a high-quality finish aligned with the project programme.

Ideal candidates have extensive refurbishments experience, preferably on education projects, and hold a CSCS card with site qualifications. Weekend work may be required and safety standards are paramount on site.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a finishing foreman on refurbishment projects.
• Experience on university/educational projects preferred.
• Proven track record and Caval placement references.
• Strong knowledge of finishing trades and refurbishment works.
• Able to manage snagging and ensure high-quality finish.
• Willing to work weekends if required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate finishing trades on site.
• Oversee day-to-day finishing works on the university refurbishment.
• Manage subcontractors and direct site labour.
• Ensure works meet high standards and fit the programme.
• Coordinate with the Site Manager and other trades.
• Monitor progress and report delays.
• Carry out quality checks and snagging works.
• Ensure all finishing works meet specifications.
• Maintain health and safety standards throughout the project.
• Keep the site clean, tidy and organised.
• Liaise with other site teams for smooth handovers.
• Assist with day-to-day running of the site as required.

Role: Finishing Foreman

Location: Manchester

Rate: £23 per hour

Start: Monday 21st September

Length: 8 Weeks

Experience:

• Extensive experience as a Finishing Foreman on refurbishment projects
• Previous experience working on university or educational projects preferred
• Proven track record as a Finishing Foreman
• Must have been previously placed by Caval with excellent references
• Strong knowledge of finishing trades and refurbishment works
• Confident managing subcontractors and site labour
• Good health and safety knowledge
• Strong eye for detail and quality of finish
• Able to manage snagging and ensure works are completed to a high standard
• Willing to work weekends if required

Certs:
