Job summary

McLaren Automotive is seeking a Finishing Engineering Manager to lead the introduction and industrialisation of finishing technologies, materials, equipment and processes from moulded part receipt through to packaged finished parts. You will own the process flow and drive readiness from G-2 to SOP across composite finishing, assembly and packaging.

You will lead the finishing engineering team, manage risks and costs, and ensure safe, capable and cost-effective processes that meet McLaren quality

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience leading engineering teams in high-value manufacturing environments.
• Proven delivery of finishing technology or processes from development through SOP and ramp-up.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, DFM, PFMEA, and readiness reviews.

Responsibilities

• Represent finishing engineering in launch and governance forums, escalating strategic decisions to the Head of Engineering Launch.
• Lead, coach and develop the finishing engineering team.
• Track launch performance, risks, issues and mitigation plans for programme governance.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery to meet safety, quality, timing and budget targets.
• Deliver manufacturing readiness from G-2 to production handover for all finishing processes.
