Job summary

McLaren Automotive in the United Kingdom seeks a Finishing Engineering Manager to lead the introduction and industrialisation of finishing technologies, materials, equipment and processes from moulded part receipt to packaged finished part. You will own manufacturing readiness from G-2 to SOP and drive cross-functional delivery with safety, quality and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science or related discipline.
• Significant experience in composite finishing, assembly, production launch or comparable high-value manufacturing.
• Experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional delivery through complex launches.
• Proven delivery of finishing technology programs from G-2 through SOP and ramp-up.
• Experience APQP, PFMEA, DFM, readiness reviews and capacity ramp planning.
• Experience introducing CAPEX and industrialising materials, equipment and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Represent finishing engineering in launch and governance forums; escalate decisions to Head of Engineering Launch.
• Lead, coach and develop the finishing engineering team.
• Track launch performance, risks, issues and mitigations for governance and reporting.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery to meet safety, quality, timing and budget targets.
• Deliver manufacturing readiness from G-2 to production handover for all finishing processes.
• Ensure facilities, equipment, people, processes and supply chains are ready for launch.
• Lead capacity planning and ramp-up across finishing process scope.
• Manage introduction and industrialisation of CAPEX, materials, equipment and technologies.
