Job summary

Emerald Group seeks a Financial Risk Manager in Buckinghamshire to provide 2nd line risk oversight, challenge proposals, and report to the Board on commercial and strategic initiatives.

You will design and monitor risk appetites and stress scenarios (including ORSA processes), produce MI packs, and oversee Matching Adjustment-related risks, contributing to governance and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary with current professional status.
• Experience in Financial Services, Life or Pensions sector.
• Understanding of UK regulatory environment and investment risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line review, challenge, and reporting on proposals including Bulk Purchase Annuity deals and acquisitions.
• Develop, review and monitor risk appetites, limits and scenarios, including design of stress and scenarios included in ORSA processes
• Produce and develop of the Company’s risk reporting, MI packs and other papers to Board and relevant Committees
• Provide oversight and review of Matching Adjustment-related risks

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Develop, review and monitor financial risk appetites, limits and scenarios, including the design of stress and scenarios included in ORSA processes
• Produce and develop of the Company’s risk reporting, MI packs and other papers to Board and relevant Committees
• Provide oversight and review of Matching Adjustment-related risks

• Qualified Actuary

Experience required:

• Financial Services (Life industry or Pensions Fund/Investments) experience
• Experience of the regulatory environment in the UK
• Understanding and experience of investments within the life or pensions industry especially credit risk and illiquid assets
• Previous risk management experience (1st and/or 2nd line)
