Job summary

The Emerald Group is seeking an experienced risk professional to manage all aspects of risk across assigned clients in London. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring the team, reviewing reporting for governance forums, and supporting risk framework development with the Head of Risk.

The role requires identifying, documenting and rating risks, knowledge of underwriting risk, Solvency II and regulatory requirements, and a solid understanding of the insurance market and Lloyd's syndicate

Qualifications

• Experience in risk management within insurance or underwriting context.

Responsibility for all aspects of risk management across assigned clients, challenging the risk management and controls within those clients

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Leading and mentoring more junior team members to develop their understanding of risk management and the group companies and clients


• Review and own reporting to both client and company governance forums


• Support the development and maintenance of allocated framework sections, in liaison with other team members and the Head of Risk


• Responsible for identifying, documenting and rating risks in relevant clients, including reviewing work undertaken by direct reports


• Experience of working in an underwriting or underwriting-related area or a good understanding of underwriting risk and basic underwriting processes would be an advantage


• Strong understanding of the insurance market and risk, with a basic understanding of the activities of a Lloyd’s syndicate


• Strong understanding of Solvency II and other regulatory requirements; an understanding of how they impact on the business desirable.
