Job summary

Front Row Recruitment is seeking an experienced Financial Risk Analyst for a growing Financial Services client. The role involves second-line oversight, challenge of risk management, and collaboration with senior stakeholders to shape strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate has Life Insurance or Pension-focused risk experience, strong UK regulatory knowledge, ALM exposure, and proven stakeholder communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Financial risk management experience within Life Insurance and/or Pensions.
• Strong understanding of the UK regulatory environment.
• Knowledge of investment risk, including credit risk and illiquid assets.
• Experience of, or exposure to, Asset Liability Management (ALM).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line oversight and challenge of financial risk management activities.
• Review and assess credit risk management frameworks and ALM activities.
• Support oversight of internal credit rating methodologies and risk controls.
• Review Matching Adjustment applications and related risks.
• Contribute to validation activities for internal models and remediation findings.
• Support risk reporting for Executive and Board-level governance committees.
• Review actuarial assumptions, methodologies and risk-related initiatives.
• Provide risk oversight on investment activities, reinsurance arrangements and strategic projects.
• Coordinate contributions to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process.
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of Enterprise Risk Management and Risk Appetite Frameworks.
• Monitor key financial risk metrics and contribute to regular risk reporting.

My client, an established, respected and growing Financial Services company, seek an experienced Financial Risk Analyst to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team. This role offers the opportunity to provide independent oversight, challenge and assurance across a broad range of financial risk activities while working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess credit risk management frameworks and Asset Liability Management (ALM) activities.

Essential Experience

• Financial risk management experience within Life Insurance and/or Pensions.
