Role Purpose

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst will provide essential support to the Power Business Leadership Team and across the Power Finance team for all FP&A tasks and deliverables.

This role involves collaborating with the Centrica Power Finance team and across Power to produce high-quality business performance materials, contributing directly to informed decision-making and adding significant value to the business. The role will also support routine month-end, half-year, and year-end reporting processes.

Key Accountabilities

• Produce standard finance deliverables, supported by clear and focused explanations and messaging.
• Regularly report performance against plans and forecasts, supporting business review of financial and operational variances to identify corrective actions.
• Support the delivery of accurate, efficient, and transparent financial plans and forecasts.
• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in Power and across finance.
• Translate business strategy into financial impacts, focusing on key drivers of profit and cashflow, and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Provide insight and analysis to drive improvements in financial performance.
• Support finance transformation by improving forecasting and reporting.
• Carry out non-standard / bespoke analysis to support business decision-making.
• Contribute to process improvements within financial operations.
• Support the delivery of the Power reporting platform in Fabric and project "PowerTrace" for both Assets & Nuclear.
• Support the evolution of the Assets MBR and MPR packs as the strategy changes in H2 2025 and onwards.

The Person

• Recognised accountancy qualification with 1 year’s PQE or finalist.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Motivated by continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outputs.
• Experience of providing commercial analysis in a financial planning and analysis or business partnering role.
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to summarise complex data and communicate effectively.
• An interest in automation and data analysis tools.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Ability to assess and analyse operational risks and controls.
