Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Actuary to join our Retail Finance team as a Financial Performance Manager for the Retail Protection business.

This role supports the business by managing and optimizing financial results, including IFRS17, monitoring performance against key metrics, ensuring financial controls, and providing relevant MI.

You will communicate complex financial information to stakeholders up to Director level, ensuring clarity and effectiveness. While this role is within our Retail Protection team, experience in RP is not mandatory, and applications from various backgrounds are welcome.

This is a hybrid role based from any of our UK offices (London, Cardiff, or Hove), allowing a flexible work/life balance.

What you'll be doing:

1. Monitoring the ongoing financial performance of the Retail Protection business against key metrics
2. Using financial insights to recommend management actions and challenge stakeholders on strategic decisions
3. Supporting the development of financial analytical capabilities within the team
4. Ensuring timely production and communication of financial results meeting all standards
5. Reporting relevant MI to the business as required
6. Ensuring financial controls and procedures are observed
7. Considering the fair treatment of customers in analysis and decisions

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

• A Fully Qualified Actuary
• Experience in financial management/reporting, ideally within a Life office or consultancy, with understanding of Solvency II & IFRS17
• Broad understanding of Protection products, reporting metrics, risks, and regulatory frameworks (highly advantageous)
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Prophet, and DCS
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Good stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Flexible, capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
• Ability to work independently and within a team
