Qualification Content Lead - Management Accounting and Performance Management

We are currently recruiting for a Qualification Content Lead - Management Accounting and Performance Management on a full-time, 18-month fixed-term basis. We are flexible on the location of this role as we operate a 'digital first' approach.

QCLs lead the development of syllabuses and assessments, ensuring the external examining team delivers innovative, relevant, and rigorous qualifications for ACCA future members and additional qualifications for existing members globally.

The Job

Reporting to the Qualification Content Manager, this role includes:

  1. Setting clear and appropriate syllabus and learning outcomes for the allocated subject area to prepare learners for assessments.
  2. Ensuring assessments are of the highest quality.
  3. Developing assessment models considering content, style, relevance, level, syllabus coverage, and consistency.
  4. Leading examining team members and liaising on proposed changes.
  5. Finalising assessments at exam panel meetings, ensuring compliance with requirements and regulations.
  6. Updating examinable documents and producing technical articles for legislative or regulatory changes.
  7. Leading marking standardisation meetings post-examinations.
  8. Supporting external examiner selection, training, and feedback.
  9. Considering professional developments, legislative, and regulatory changes relevant to the subject.
  10. Leading syllabus and examination content development as the subject matter expert and guiding teams through change.

The Person

  1. A professional qualification in accounting with experience in accountancy education.
  2. Strong technical knowledge of Management Accounting and Performance Management.
  3. Excellent relationship-building skills internally and externally.
  4. Ability to manage work volumes and meet deadlines.
  5. Proficiency in Word processing and Excel.
  6. Professionalism to represent ACCA externally at meetings and conferences.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
