Manager at JSS Finance, specialising in Senior Finance across the Thames Valley

I’m excited to partner with a fast-growing, private equity-backed multi-site business headquartered in Reading. They are seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Financial Controller to join their finance team and play a key role in ensuring robust financial controls and reporting across the business.

The Role

The Financial Controller will lead the day-to-day finance function, ensure compliance with financial regulations, establish and test financial controls, and provide guidance to stakeholders.

You’ll be involved in:

• Leading the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Overseeing statutory reporting in line with IFRS and PE requirements
• Managing and strengthening financial controls across the business
• Ensuring compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory standards
• Liaising with external auditors and advisors during the annual audit process
• Developing and managing the financial reporting framework, including KPIs and board reporting
• Partnering with senior stakeholders
• Driving improvements in systems, processes, and financial governance
• Supporting the integration of acquisitions and business expansion projects

Qualifications & Experience:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), ideally with an audit background
• Strong technical accounting expertise with IFRS knowledge (15 & 16)
• Experience with Controls, Risks, and Compliance, preferably in a fast-paced PLC or PE-backed environment
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, with the ability to see the bigger picture
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a high-growth, agile environment
