Financial Controller

Poole / Bournemouth

£70,000 to £80,000

Talent Drive is partnering exclusively with an established and growing business in the Poole and Bournemouth area to appoint an experienced Financial Controller.

This is a broad, hands on role with genuine influence. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll lead the finance function while working closely with the leadership team to improve performance, support commercial decisions and help shape future growth.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of the day to day finance function, ensuring strong reporting, controls and financial planning while providing meaningful commercial insight across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Management accounts and financial reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow
• Commercial analysis, profitability and margin improvement
• Business partnering with the MD and leadership team
• Project and contract costing
• Financial controls, compliance and statutory requirements
• Improving finance systems, reporting and processes
• Supporting wider business planning and growth

About You

You’ll ideally be a university graduate in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline and ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with experience at Financial Controller level or within a similarly broad senior finance role.

This is a smaller, close knit business, so personality and fit really matter. You’ll be adaptable, approachable and a genuine team player, comfortable rolling your sleeves up and getting involved where needed.

You’ll combine strong technical finance skills with commercial awareness, confidence working with senior leaders and a proactive approach to improving how things are done.
