Job summary

Kara Healthcare in Leicester seeks an experienced Financial Controller to partner with the CEO and senior leaders, shaping financial strategy and governance across multi-site services. You will lead the finance function, deliver monthly management accounts, and drive budgeting, cash flow and risk management.

With fully qualified status and a track record in regulated sectors, you’ll develop robust controls, support acquisitions and mentor the finance team, enabling the organisation to sustain

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience as Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or similar senior finance position.
• Strong track record producing management accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Experience in healthcare, social care, hospitality, or a regulated sector is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and oversee day-to-day financial operations.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
• Partner with operational teams to improve financial performance across the organisation.
• Monitor business performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Support acquisition, growth, and investment activities as required.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve high performance.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proactive and commercially focused finance leader who can combine technical expertise with strong business partnering skills. You'll Ideally Have:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or similar senior finance position.
• Strong experience producing management accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance, and risk management.
• Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to influence decision-making at senior leadership level.
• Experience within healthcare, social care, hospitality, or a similarly regulated sector would be advantageous.
