Job summary

Glenholme Specialist Healthcare in the UK is seeking a Financial Controller to lead all financial control, statutory reporting and governance across multiple sites. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage a small overseas finance team and partner with operations to drive commercial decision-making.

This high-visibility role offers exposure to senior leadership, ownership of month-end and year-end processes, external audits, and opportunities to shape growth during an expansion phase.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification is required.
• Experience in financial control and statutory reporting is essential.
• Healthcare or multi-site environment experience is beneficial.
• Experience managing finance teams.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills are important.
• Ability to operate in a fast-moving, changing environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a commercial mindset.
• Strong Excel skills are required.
• Interest in AI to improve processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead all financial control activities across the business.
• Own monthly balance sheet reviews, reconciliations and financial reporting processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare consolidated management reporting including finance sections of the Board pack.
• Prepare statutory reports and reporting to investors, banks and VAT etc.
• Manage external audit processes.
• Drive continuous improvement across controls, governance and reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight.
• Manage and develop a small finance team, based overseas.
• Act as key contact for auditors, tax advisors and external stakeholders.
• Ad hoc activities as requested by CFO.

Financial Controller

Location: Eton,Berkshire Contract: Full-time Salary: £70,000 - £75,000

The Role

This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, multi-site business undergoing continued growth and transformation. Working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and Operations, you'll take ownership of financial control, statutory reporting, governance, and team leadership while supporting commercial decision-making across the business.

Reporting to the CFO, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting whilst driving continuous improvement across processes, controls, and systems.

This is a visible position offering significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence both operational and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial control activities across the business
• Own monthly balance sheet reviews, reconciliations and financial reporting processes
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare consolidated management reporting including appropriate finance sections of the Board pack
• Prepare all relevant reporting including statutory reports, reporting to the PE investors, the bank and other external reporting requirements (such as VAT returns etc)
• Run the external audit process
• Drive continuous improvement across financial controls, governance and reporting processes
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning activities
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and challenge
• Manage and develop a small finance team, based overseas, creating a high-performance culture
• Act as a key contact for auditors, tax advisors and external stakeholders
• Ad hoc activities as requested by the CFO

What We're Looking For

• ACA or ACCA qualification
• Strong financial control and statutory reporting experience
• Background within the healthcare or other multi-site environments would be beneficial
• Experience managing and developing finance teams
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Ability to operate effectively within a fast-moving, changing environment
• Strong attention to detail alongside a commercial mindset
• Excellent Excel skills
• A desire to embrace AI and improve process and procedures
• Ideally you would have experience of Sage 200
