Job summary

Kara Healthcare is seeking a Financial Controller to partner with the CEO and senior leadership, providing financial insight, governance, and support to growth.

You will lead the finance function across multiple sites, producing monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, cash flow and ensuring robust controls.

This full-time, permanent role in Leicester offers £75,000-£90,000, occasional travel to services, and a chance to shape the finance function in a values‑driven healthcare group.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience as Financial Controller or senior finance leader.
• Proven track record in management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
• Strong controls, compliance, and risk management knowledge.
• Experience in multi-site healthcare or regulated sectors advantageous.

What You'll Be Doing

As Financial Controller, you'll work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, providing financial insight, governance, and support to drive sustainable growth and operational success.

• Lead the finance function and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
• Partner with operational teams to improve financial performance across the organisation.
• Monitor business performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Support acquisition, growth, and investment activities as required.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve high performance.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proactive and commercially focused finance leader who can combine technical expertise with strong business partnering skills. You'll Ideally Have:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or similar senior finance position.
• Strong experience producing management accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance, and risk management.
• Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to influence decision-making at senior leadership level.
• Experience within healthcare, social care, hospitality, or a similarly regulated sector would be advantageous.
