Elevate Search Ltd is partnering with an established, fast-paced organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for a six-month fixed term contract in London. This hands-on role requires building credibility across the business and driving improvements within the finance function.

You will lead month-end close, maintain balance sheet integrity, manage cash flow forecasting and working capital, and support budgeting and commercial decision-making.

Qualificações

• Experience as Financial Controller or senior finance role (hands-on).
• Proven ability to drive process improvements in finance.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to challenge existing ways of working.
• Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or PQE with relevant senior experience.

Responsabilidades

Elevate Search is partnering with an established, fast-paced and project-led organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for an initial six-month fixed term contract.

This is a hands-on assignment with a clear remit: maintain strong financial control while reviewing and improving the processes, controls and ways of working across the finance function.

The successful candidate will inherit an established team and will need to quickly build credibility across the business. We are therefore looking for someone confident, pragmatic and resilient who is comfortable challenging existing processes and implementing improvements while bringing colleagues with them.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the month-end close and production of accurate management accounts.
• Maintaining balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Reviewing and strengthening financial controls and existing finance processes.
• Managing cash flow forecasting and working capital.
• Overseeing WIP, project accounting, accruals and revenue recognition.
• Improving reporting, systems, automation and data quality.
• Supporting audit requirements and external advisors.
• Leading and supporting the existing finance team.
• Working closely with operational and senior stakeholders.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making.

About you:

You will ideally have previous experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or in a similarly hands-on senior finance position.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience of entering an established finance environment, identifying areas for improvement and successfully implementing change.

You should be commercially minded, technically strong and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where you may need to challenge existing ways of working.

Candidates may be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified; however, strong Qualified By Experience (QBE) candidates with the appropriate Financial Controller‑level experience are equally encouraged to apply.

This would particularly suit an experienced interim or contract Financial Controller who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and leaving a finance function stronger than they found it.
