Job summary

Finatal is partnering with a private equity-backed infrastructure business during an exciting growth phase. The Financial Controller will report to the CFO and own month-end close, management accounts, and financial reporting while helping build a scalable finance function across multiple projects.

You will lead audit and tax processes, oversee treasury, budgeting and cash flow planning, and drive finance transformation with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• ACA-qualified with Top 10 firm experience.
• Experience in asset-intensive sectors (infrastructure/energy/utilities).
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of month-end close, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs.
• Management of audit, statutory accounts and tax compliance processes.
• Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury activities.
• Ownership and enhancement of financial controls, governance and risk frameworks.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning processes.
• Drive process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business.
• Support acquisition, integration and wider strategic finance projects.
• Mentor and develop junior members of the finance team.
• Ownership of fixed asset accounting and CapEx reporting across multiple projects.
• Partner with operational teams to monitor project spend and investment performance.
• Support business cases and funding requirements for growth initiatives.

With a portfolio of critical assets and a clear value creation agenda, the business is seeking a Financial Controller to strengthen the finance function and support the CFO through the next phase of expansion.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad role offering exposure across financial reporting, controls, process improvement, business partnering and strategic projects. The successful candidate will take ownership of core finance activities while helping to build a scalable finance function capable of supporting continued growth.

The Role

The Candidate

• ACA Qualified, ideally within a Top 10 practice
• Experience within infrastructure, energy, utilities, transport, telecommunications, data centre or other asset-intensive businesses
• Exposure to CapEx accounting, project accounting, fixed asset management and large-scale investment programmes
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
• Experience managing audit processes and statutory reporting requirements
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Advanced Excel capabilities
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
