SF Partners seeks a hands-on Financial Controller for its SME manufacturing operation in Rotherham. The role combines day-to-day financial management with management accounting, commercial reporting and strategic input for senior stakeholders.

You will own the finance function, drive process improvements, and deliver accurate financial information to support business decisions. Hybrid working is offered with 4 days in the office and 1 day at home.

Qualifications

• Hands-on finance professional with SME experience.
• Proven ability to analyse P&L and cash flow.
• Proficient in Excel and financial systems (Sage/QuickBooks).

Responsabilités

• Own day-to-day finance operations and accounting processes.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with P&L analysis and commentary.
• Forecast cash flows and monitor financial performance.
• Produce financial reports and board packs for meetings.
• Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, invoicing and reconciliations.
• Manage credit control, debt collection and cash management.
• Maintain accurate records and strong financial controls.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Provide financial analysis to support senior management decisions.

Financial Controller

Hybrid Working - 4 Days Office / 1 Day Home

We're working with an established SME manufacturing business based in Rotherham who are looking to appoint a hands-on Financial Controller to take ownership of their finance function.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller who enjoys a varied role, combining day-to-day financial management with management accounting, commercial reporting and involvement in wider business decisions.

You’ll have responsibility for the smooth running of the finance function, producing accurate financial information, improving processes and working closely with senior stakeholders to support the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function and accounting operations.
• Producing monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L analysis and commentary.
• Preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring financial performance.
• Producing financial reports and board packs, attending board meetings where required.
• Overseeing transactional finance, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, invoicing and bank reconciliations.
• Managing credit control, debt collection and cash management.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring strong financial controls.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting and overall efficiencies.
• Providing financial analysis and insight to support senior management with business decisions.

About You

• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or in a similar hands-on finance role.
• Strong management accounting experience, including P&L reporting and cash flow forecasting.
• Comfortable overseeing transactional finance alongside higher-level reporting and analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using Sage or QuickBooks.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities.
• Confident communicating financial information to senior stakeholders.
