Job summary

RG Consultancy are working with a fantastic growing SME in Stockport recruiting for a Financial Controller. This is a brand-new role reporting to the Financial Director and providing day-to-day management and operational support for the finance department and wider business.

The position offers hybrid working, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, free onsite parking and a pension scheme. You will lead monthly management reporting, month-end/year-end close, budgeting and performance analysis,

Qualifications

• Qualified; CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent with senior finance experience.
• Proven track record in financial management, FP&A and reporting.
• Strong MS Excel and accounting package skills; attention to controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly management reporting, financial analysis and board reporting.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
• Manage cash flow, treasury, working capital and banking covenant reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and credit control.
• Drive finance process improvements, automation and reporting efficiency using Microsoft Business Central, Power BI and AI.
• Lead finance integration activities for acquisitions, ensuring consistent systems, processes and controls.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Person Specification

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
• Proven experience working within a financial management role as a Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller
• Strong IT skills including accounting packages and strong MS Excel skills
