Job summary

IPS Finance seeks an ambitious Financial Controller to lead the financial control function within a PE-backed group with turnover around £50m. Hybrid role with 2-3 days WFH, reporting to the CFO and managing three Management Accountants.

You will oversee monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow, ensuring tight controls and accurate reporting across the group. Exposure to senior stakeholders welcomed.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong financial control experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop three Management Accountants and the wider finance team.
• Oversee monthly management accounts and group financial reporting.
• Support the CFO with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Maintain robust financial controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Provide commercial analysis and insight to senior management.
• Manage month-end and year-end processes.
• Drive finance process improvements across the group.
• Collaborate with operational teams to improve financial performance.
• Support board reporting and PE stakeholder requirements.
• Contribute to Sage 200 and finance systems development.
• Assist with strategic projects and business improvement initiatives.

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious Financial Controller to join a successful, PE-backed group with turnover of approximately £50m.

This a hybrid working opportunity with 2 to 3 days WFH.

Reporting to an experienced CFO, you will take responsibility for the financial control function, managing three Management Accountants and the wider finance team. You will play a key role in ensuring strong financial reporting, controls and commercial insight across the group.

The role offers a genuine long-term career opportunity, with the CFO actively looking to develop a successor. You will work closely with the CFO, gaining exposure to senior-level reporting, commercial decision-making, board requirements and the wider strategic development of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing three Management Accountants and the wider finance team.

• Supporting the CFO with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
