Job summary

Harvey John is assisting a client with a 100-year track record in the UK who seeks an ambitious accountant. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role covers two group companies, with full training, induction and clear progression opportunities.

Duties include processing receivables and payables, ensuring accurate financial transactions, handling expense claims, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting the Account Handlers and Customer Service teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accounts department.
• Experience with computerised accounting systems.
• Understanding of bookkeeping concepts.
• Highly accurate with attention to detail.
• Pro-active and driven with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accounts receivables and payables are accurate and timely.
• Ensure that financial transactions are accurate.
• Be responsible for processing of authorised expense claims, direct debit payments, credit card statements and petty cash requests.
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
• Provide support to internal Account Handlers and Customer Service Team by answering enquiries relating to financial transactions.
• Assistance with new system implementation.
• Ad hoc duties as requested by the Assistant Financial Controller.
