Job summary

Harvey John Recruitment is seeking a Finance Assistant in Lancing, West Sussex, to support two companies within a long-standing group. You will report to the Assistant Financial Controller and Finance Director and will receive full training with clear progression opportunities.

The role is on-site with potential for hybrid working after start, and study support for professional qualifications, including time off for study and exams.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accounts department
• Experience with computerised accounting systems and MS Office
• Understanding of bookkeeping concepts
• Highly accurate with attention to detail
• Pro-active and driven with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Ensure accounts receivables and payables activities are performed accurately and timely
• Ensure that financial transactions are accurate
• Be responsible for the accurate processing of authorised expense claims, direct debit payments, credit card statements and petty cash requests
• Preparation of balance sheets reconciliations including bank reconciliations
• Provide support to internal Account Handlers and Customer Service Team by answering enquires relating to financial transactions
• Assistance with new system implementation
• Ad hoc duties as requested by the Assistant Financial Controller
