Job summary

Absolute Recruit is seeking a Finance Assistant for a growing Hertford-based business. The role offers exposure across transactional finance, VAT, expenses and payroll, with room to develop and take on more responsibility.

In this broad position you will raise invoices, set up customer accounts, assist with VAT returns, processing expenses and payroll, and support monthly reporting within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
• Studying towards an AAT qualification.
• Experience using Sage 50 is beneficial.
• Strong Excel and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Raising invoices and supporting with sales ledger duties.
• Setting up new customer accounts and resolving account queries.
• Assisting with quarterly VAT returns and wider VAT administration.
• Processing employee expenses and credit card claims.
• Supporting with monthly payroll and pension administration.
• Maintaining accurate finance records and reconciliations.
• Assisting with reporting and general finance administration.
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties.
