Job Purpose
An accountant is sought to join the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team located in London, supporting a wide range of entities within the ICE Group. The individual will be a primary contributor to ICE's European and APAC statutory accounts process, including responsibility for statutory accounts preparation, overseeing, implementing, and coordinating related actions, and acting as a key contact for the wider Finance team and ICE organisation regarding technical accounting matters. The role involves coordination and support for matters such as the quarterly dividend process, integration of newly acquired entities, regulatory and prudential reporting, and ad-hoc projects.
Responsibilities
- Primary contributor to ICE's European and APAC entities' statutory accounts process, including preparation of statutory accounts primarily using Workiva software. Currently around 70 active entities.
- Coordinate the external audit process and manage the timetable for ICE's European and APAC entities, including liaising with auditors and coordinating related actions.
- Prepare statutory accounts for multiple regions using financial data from Oracle Cloud, under various GAAPs including UK, IFRS, Singapore, and Dutch GAAPs.
- Oversee and coordinate overseas audits and filings with third-party service providers in countries such as Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, and France.
- Support the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team by preparing board and committee papers, financial reports for quarterly dividends, interim accounts, and capital monitoring and forecasting.
- Serve as the key contact for the wider Finance team and ICE organisation on technical accounting support, including preparing technical board papers and memos and ensuring GAAP adjustments' accuracy.
- Provide technical support for corporate transactions and acquisitions and monitor adherence to new accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist with the integration of newly acquired entities into ICE's statutory reporting and audit processes.
- Support regulatory and prudential reporting for various regulated entities under multiple regulators such as FCA, BoE, ESMA, NFA, AFM, DNB, MAS, and CFTC.
- Oversee and monitor daily calculations of EBA capital requirements and support annual regulatory capital assessments.
- Monitor and report on risk metrics for regulatory and board reporting and handle ad-hoc projects as needed.
Knowledge and Experience
- Post-qualification experience is desirable but not essential.
- Extensive experience in statutory accounts preparation and review, either in practice or within a large group.
- Experience with the audit process, either as an auditor or as a key contact.
- Exposure to technical accounting areas and project management.
- Experience in financial services, regulatory reporting, or related projects is desirable.
- Experience with overseas entity integration and multiple GAAPs is desirable.
- Prior use of accounting software such as Oracle Cloud and Workiva is desirable.
- Degree-level education or relevant experience.
- Recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is desirable; part-qualified candidates will also be considered.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, including UK GAAP and IFRS; familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and analyze complex financial data.
- Attention to detail, self-motivation, and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work collaboratively.
