Job Purpose
An accountant is sought to join the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team located in London, supporting a wide range of entities within the ICE Group. The individual will contribute to ICE’s European and APAC statutory accounts process, including preparing statutory accounts, overseeing related actions, and acting as a key contact for technical accounting matters within the wider Finance team and ICE organization. The role also involves supporting quarterly dividend processes, integration of newly acquired entities, regulatory and prudential reporting, and ad-hoc projects.
Responsibilities
- Primary contributor to ICE’s European and APAC entities' statutory accounts process, including preparation using Workiva software. Currently around 70 active entities.
- Coordinate external audits and manage timetables for ICE’s European and APAC entities, liaising with auditors and managing related actions.
- Prepare statutory accounts using financial data from Oracle Cloud for multiple regions and GAAPs, including UK, IFRS, Singapore, and Dutch GAAPs.
- Oversee and coordinate overseas audits and filings with third-party providers across countries such as Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, and France.
- Support the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team by preparing board and committee papers, financial reports for quarterly dividends, interim accounts, and capital monitoring.
- Serve as a technical accounting contact, preparing board papers and memos, and ensuring GAAP adjustments are accurate.
- Provide technical support for corporate transactions and acquisitions, monitoring adherence to new standards and regulations.
- Assist in integrating newly acquired entities into ICE’s statutory reporting and audit processes.
- Support regulatory and prudential reporting for multiple regulators including FCA, BoE, ESMA, NFA, AFM, DNB, MAS, and CFTC.
- Oversee daily calculations of EBA capital requirements and support annual regulatory capital assessments.
- Monitor and report risk metrics for regulatory and board reporting, along with ad-hoc projects.
Knowledge and Experience
- Post-qualification experience is desirable but not essential.
- Extensive experience in statutory accounts preparation and review within large groups or accounting practice.
- Experience with audit processes, either as an auditor or a key contact.
- Exposure to technical accounting areas and managing projects to deadlines.
- Experience in financial services, regulatory reporting, or project management is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with overseas entities, GAAPs, and accounting applications like Oracle Cloud and Workiva is desirable.
- Degree-level education or relevant experience; recognized professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) is desirable; part-qualified candidates will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
- Ability to analyze complex data, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Effective in communicating with senior stakeholders and fostering team collaboration.
