The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside our established team who will support you to utilise and enhance your advisory and insolvency skills and experience. You will work alongside some of the most experienced practitioners in the field advising the boards, management teams, lenders, and shareholders of companies which are underperforming and/or facing financial stress.

Our North team has recently led a number of high-profile regional insolvencies (including the Black Sheep Brewery, WN VTech, and TXM Plant Administrations), as well as working on complex advisory assignments. We work with a spectrum of companies from SME to PLC.

As a Manager / Associate Director, you will have the opportunity to work and lead on diverse engagements across sectors, with responsibilities including leading workstreams, managing junior staff, and supporting Directors and Senior Managing Directors in client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Client service

• Prepare engagement letters and ensure compliance.
• Manage parts of engagements, supporting senior staff in managing stakeholders.
• Assist management in business plan preparation, cash flow forecasts, and restructuring plans.
• Provide financial restructuring and cash management services.
• Review and stress-test business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
• Develop and present financial options using data and models.
• Liaise with legal advisors and drive documentation processes.
• Develop insolvency strategies.
• Deliver insolvency assignments, including asset realizations and statutory compliance.
• Manage engagement economics, risk, and financial aspects.

Knowledge acquisition

• Build client relationship, sector, and leadership skills.
• Develop technical expertise and business advisory skills.
• Understand market trends and our propositions.

People and leadership

• Support practice and talent development.
• Mentor and develop junior staff.

Key Skills & Experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).

• Experience with insolvency legislation and assignments.
