Job summary

Nacro is seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to lead our financial accounting function, overseeing statutory reporting, balance sheet integrity, VAT compliance, and treasury activities while directing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will drive month-end and year-end processes, maintain key balance sheet controls, and foster continuous improvement, governance and robust financial reporting across the charity.

Qualifications

• ACCA or ACA qualification is essential.
• Experience in technical financial accounting within a large, complex organisation.
• Proven ability to manage VAT, statutory reporting and financial controls within a charity context.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end processes with timely, accurate reporting.
• Maintain ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts.
• Oversee VAT compliance and treasury activities.
• Support statutory accounts production and liaise with internal/external audits.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team to deliver robust governance.
• Maintain and enhance financial systems and data integrity.
• Drive continuous improvement in controls, reporting and processes.
• Build strong relationships with budget holders and senior stakeholders across the organisation.
