Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking a senior technical accountant to lead statutory reporting, audit coordination, and strong governance across the finance function. You will drive process improvements, ensure accurate reporting, and collaborate with tax, payroll and shared services to support business decisions.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, with deep knowledge of accounting standards, controls and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and up-to-date standards knowledge.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Experience coordinating external audits and statutory reporting.
• Solid understanding of internal controls and governance frameworks.
• Ability to challenge and support senior stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
• Own balance sheet integrity and reconciliations.
• Oversee statutory accounts preparation and external audit.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and SOX.
• Identify risks and implement controls and improvements.
• Oversee external and regulatory reporting and filings.
• Collaborate with shared services, tax and payroll to ensure smooth processes.
• Drive continuous improvement across accounting and finance operations.
• Provide financial insight and challenge to key stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop junior finance staff.
