Job summary

Jiggle, based in Durham, is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Finance function. The role focuses on ownership of year-end audit, statutory reporting and the ongoing development of financial controls within a construction and civil engineering contractor.

Responsibilities include preparing statutory financial statements under UK GAAP/FRS 102, leading external audits, and supporting VAT and corporation tax processes.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
• Experience leading external audits and statutory filings.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP/FRS 102.
• Oversee statutory reporting requirements and filings.
• Lead external audit process and coordinate with auditors across the business.
• Produce audit schedules and respond to auditor queries efficiently.
• Assist in corporation tax information preparation and VAT returns.
• Develop and strengthen the Group's financial controls and processes.
• Collaborate with operational teams to standardise financial processes.
• Deliver monthly management information packs to the Board.
