Job summary

Michael Page International Recruitment Limited is seeking a qualified accountant to join the Group Financial Reporting team in the UK. You will be responsible for preparing Group IFRS financial statements, coordinating statutory accounts planning with governance and external auditors, and reviewing UK subsidiary statutory accounts across multiple entities.

The role requires strong IFRS knowledge, multi-entity/multi-currency reporting experience, and excellent communication skills to drive

Job description

Ensuring financial statements are compliant with financial policies and regulatory standards, whilst driving an efficient audit process. The role will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring the accounting for joint ventures and operations across the group, preparing notes to feed into the group financial statements, managing the month end for a number of entities, preparation and external audit of subsidiary stat accounts and other ad hoc projects,

Description

• Prepare Group financial statements under IFRS
• Liaise with external auditors on financial reporting and technical queries.
• Coordinate statutory accounts planning with the business, Governance and auditors.
• Prepare and review UK subsidiary statutory accounts.
• Coordinate and review statutory reporting team forecast submissions.
• Review accounting and disclosures for joint operations and joint ventures.
• Assess new accounting standards and communicate reporting requirements to the business.
• Drive cross-functional improvements and lead financial reporting projects, including M&A.

Profile

• Qualified accountant - ACA / ACCA
• Strong practical IFRS and statutory reporting knowledge.
• Experience preparing UK subsidiary accounts in complex organisations.
• External audit or equivalent statutory reporting experience; Big 4 preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including subsidiaries, JVs and JOs.
• Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency reporting.
• Strong financial reporting knowledge, including FTSE requirements.
• Excellent communication, influencing and process improvement skills.
• Ability to quickly understand complex issues and develop practical solutions.
