Job summary

A UK-based recruitment company is seeking a Director to provide maternity cover for a Finance Manager. The role involves managing accounting duties such as month-end close, preparing management accounts, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong experience in financial accounting and management functions. This is a full-time role based in the London Area with a focus on continuous improvement in finance operations.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience of month end close and management accounts.
• Experience supporting year-end accounting and external audit is required.
• Experience in fintech/financial services/banking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive the month end close including journal postings and BS recs.
• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Support the annual report and accounts process.
• Manage the fixed asset register and advise on IAS 38 project capitalisation.
• Support with VAT and other tax matters.
• Maintain the Finance team's risk and controls register.
• Provide external audit support during audit season.
• Contribute to continuous improvement project initiatives within the Finance function.

The Company

Our client is a PE backed specialist lending bank operating within the UK. It is well established and profitable.

The role

Reporting to the Finance Manager supporting this 12 month FTC maternity cover you will support the team across a broad range of accounting and reporting duties. You will be readily available within 1 month.
