Xenial Consulting Ltd is hiring an Assistant Accountant for a fixed-term maternity cover ending April 2027. The role supports the finance team to ensure accurate financial information and timely decision-making across the business.

Three days per week are office-based, with a hands-on, collaborative environment in London. Responsibilities include month-end processes, AP management, bank reconciliations, and assisting with sales queries.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or ACCA status (part-qualified) is required.
• Experience in a similar accounting role is essential.
• Strong Excel skills and a detail-focused approach are required.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly UK management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Manage Accounts Payable and process weekly supplier payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts and revenue across multiple sales channels.
• Process credit card transactions and expenses.
• Investigate and resolve queries arising during month-end.
• Support Sales with customer account queries as needed.

About the role

Join a collaborative finance team in a growing, values-led business. As Assistant Accountant, you'll support the accuracy and integrity of financial information, helping teams across the business make informed decisions.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover ending in April 2027, with three days per week in the office.

What you'll do

• Prepare monthly UK management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Manage Accounts Payable and process weekly supplier payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts and revenue across multiple sales channels.
• Process credit card transactions and expenses.
• Investigate and resolve queries arising during month-end.
• Manage the UK Accounts inbox and respond to creditor queries.
• Support the Sales team with customer account queries as needed.
• Provide accurate, timely financial information and responsive support to colleagues across the business.

What you'll bring

• AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA status.
• Experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work efficiently with large, detailed spreadsheets.
