Job description

Job Title: Financial Accountant

Pertemps is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the finance team of a large retail business at their Head Office in Plymouth. Working alongside the Overheads Manager and team, you will oversee multiple cost centres, ensuring accurate and timely expenditure recording.

Responsibilities include:

1. Managing selected cost centres and balance sheet codes
2. Posting and verifying monthly accruals, prepayments, and journals
3. Processing rental invoices and ensuring timely payments to landlords
4. Supporting Construction Industry Scheme reporting
5. Reviewing sensitive nominal codes for capital expenditure
6. Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and related journals
7. Analyzing costs against budgets and reporting variances
8. Assisting with budgeting and re-forecasting

Skills & Requirements:

• Financial qualification (AAT or equivalent) preferred
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• High accuracy and organizational skills
• Proficiency in IT, especially intermediate/advanced Excel skills
• Team management experience is desirable
