Senior Financial Accountant (Development Opportunity)
The Vacancy
Salary £53,583.30 rising in quarterly increments to £59,537.00 following completion of a two year development plan.
Are you looking to gain experience in a management role and take your financial accounting skills to the next level? We are looking for a proficient Accountant with an eye for detail and a desire to improve and streamline processes. This role is home based with a requirement to attend up to 2 staff away days each year in Northamptonshire and provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience including a two year targeted development plan.
Within this role your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions
- Leading on preparation of the annual financial statements and year end audit process
- Preparing the 30 year business plan ensuring accuracy of cash flow forecasts and future funding requirements
- Ensuring the timely and accurate submission of data returns
- Day to day management of treasury activities including reporting on compliance with loan covenants
- Line management and development of staff
What we are looking forOur successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant professional accounting qualification / or part qualified CIMA or ACCA
- Experience working as a Management or Financial Accountant to include the preparation of accounts and some involvement with the annual audit process
- Familiarity with VAT legislation and HMRC returns
- Good understanding of financial matters including legal, regulatory and operational issues
- Effective communication skills
You will enjoy the challenge of a dynamic working environment where priorities can change at short notice but will be used to delivering periodic tasks such as supporting with the production of management accounts and/or annual financial statements.
