Job Title: Financial Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at our Head Office in Heald Green, Manchester.

Role Overview

The Financial Accountant will support the Head of Finance and Accounting (HFA) in routine operational tasks within the Accounting Function (AF) and assist with the month-end reporting cycle. Responsibilities also include external reporting activities such as statutory and regulatory filings (e.g., Corporation tax, VAT, National Statistics, VPAG, PSA).

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of key accounting concepts and be proficient in Financial Accounting, preferably with a graduate background or AAT qualification. Study support for ACCA/CGMA will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Statutory Accounts: Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, audit files, and liaising with auditors.
• Monthly Reporting: Reconciling balance sheet accounts, cash flow reporting, trial balance preparation, and supporting the Controlling team.
• Day-to-Day Operations: Processing bank payments in SAP.
• Taxation: Handling VAT returns, transfer pricing documentation, VPAG returns, R&D tax returns, and other tax compliance activities.
• Other Reporting & Responsibilities: Ensuring compliance with National Statistics obligations, adhering to SOPs, providing cover for the HFA, and supporting sustainability initiatives.
