Vitae Financial Recruitment Ltd. is partnering with a leading international organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant for its UK finance team. Hybrid working in East London with a broad remit covering financial reporting, month-end processes and ERP systems.

The role offers ownership of close processes, variance analysis, audit coordination and opportunities to contribute to systems development within a global business. ACA/ACCA/CIMA required and at least five years of accounting experience.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification is required.
• Minimum five years' accounting experience with a strong grounding in financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to investigate variances and communicate findings effectively.
• Experience working within an EMEA or global business advantageous.
• Audit exposure or involvement in systems implementation beneficial.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems; NetSuite experience advantageous.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable in a hands-on role.
• Second European language would be a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the month-end close, including management accounts, revenue recognition, balance sheet reporting and cash flow.
• Produce detailed variance analysis against budget and prior year, with clear commentary on financial performance.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate audit requirements and support tax return preparations and reconciliations.
• Monitor KPIs and prepare financial reports to support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve financial reporting and performance.
• Support budgeting, quarterly forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Contribute to ERP implementation and system improvements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of financial reporting, statutory compliance and month-end processes within a well-established business with a wider EMEA and global presence.

Offering a broad and varied remit, the role combines hands‑on financial accounting, management reporting, audit and process improvement, with opportunities to contribute to systems development and wider business performance.

The Role

• Take ownership of the month-end close, including management accounts, revenue recognition, balance sheet reporting and cash flow.

• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate audit requirements and support the preparation of tax returns and related reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to improve financial performance and reporting processes.
• Support budgeting, quarterly forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Contribute to the implementation of new ERP and business systems, alongside improvements to financial policies and procedures.

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• At least five years' accounting experience, with a strong grounding in financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Experience managing month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate variances and communicate findings effectively.
• Experience working within an EMEA or global business would be advantageous.
• Audit exposure, staff management experience or involvement in systems implementation would be beneficial.
• Confident using Excel and financial ERP systems; NetSuite experience would be an advantage.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a varied, hands‑on role.
• A second European language would be a strong advantage.
