Location: Fleet, Hampshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week on site

We’re looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team and help us shape and manage our organization’s finance functions. The ideal candidate will have solid credentials in core accounting, experience working within a best-in-class finance team, and a track record of overseeing and driving change.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the month-end close process
• Preparing monthly consolidated management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow within the group reporting timeframe
• Managing the payroll process with HR, including calculating sales commissions, ensuring appropriate accounting entries are made, and payments are processed to employees and HMRC as required
• Preparing the annual statutory accounts, including multi-currency aspects, the year-end consolidated balance sheet, and profit and loss accounts, along with gathering data for notes to the accounts
• Managing the annual audit across all group entities (UK, Ireland, US, South Africa), liaising with external auditors during the process
• Overseeing UK company tax reporting procedures, ensuring timely and accurate filings for VAT and Corporation Tax
• Creating the annual R&D tax claims by working with relevant employees to optimize tax savings based on financial data analysis
• Reviewing and approving payment runs
• Managing one direct report and supporting the Financial Controller

What we’re looking for:

• Detailed knowledge of accounting standards and statutory requirements
• Experience preparing consolidated, multi-currency financial statements and using consolidation software
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic digital business
• Knowledge of UK R&D Tax Legislation
• Experience supporting ERP system implementation
• Understanding of VAT rules and reporting requirements
• Ability to extract and manipulate data from ERP systems
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
• ACA/ACCA qualified with at least 3 years PQ experience
