Job summary

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an Accounts Technician for its Financial Services department at the Service Headquarters in Salisbury. The role will support the annual revenue budget and capital programme, ensure accurate postings to the general ledger, and assist with year-end adjustments and accounts preparation.

Qualifications

• Experience of using computerised financial information systems.
• Effective communication skills and a positive attitude to internal/external customer care.
• Effective organisational and time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and management of the Service's annual revenue budget and capital programme.
• Carry out year-end accounting adjustments and assist in preparing parts of the Statement of Accounts.
• Prepare and record a variety of financial transactions and postings to the general ledger with supporting documentation.
