Job summary

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting a Senior Finance Manager to lead the Systems Accounting function within Corporate Finance. The role focuses on maximising Unit4 ERP value, maintaining GL integrity, and driving system improvements, data insights and robust financial controls across the organisation.

Qualifications

• CCAB/CIMA qualification with membership; strong financial governance, planning and reporting capability.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.
• Experience leading finance teams and interacting with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Systems Accounting function within Corporate Finance, ensuring Unit4 alignment with business needs.
• Oversee general ledger integrity, workflow, reporting, data structures, and governance.
• Provide strategic financial advice and drive transformation, improvements and automation.
• Develop teams, deliver robust financial planning, budgets and year-end accounts.
• Support treasury, VAT, capital finance and other cross-functional financial activities.
