Job summary

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Finance Services Support Officer at its Service Headquarters in Maidstone. The role is full-time (37 hours) with hybrid working requiring a minimum of three days in the office and occasional county travel.

You will operate within a supportive finance team, handling budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and treasury tasks, with opportunities to develop capital programme knowledge and pursue AAT qualification funding.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance or administrative environment.
• Understanding of invoicing, purchase orders, and payments.
• Good IT skills with Excel and Word.
• Ability to work with stakeholders and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support budget monitoring, reporting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with annual budgets and the Medium-Term Financial Plan.
• Help produce financial information to support managers' decision-making.
• Support capital programme monitoring and reporting activities.
• Assist with treasury management and cashflow monitoring processes.
• Contribute to year-end closedown activities and audit working papers.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and external partners where required.
