Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Darlington is seeking a Hosted Finance Placement Student to support month-end close, reconciliations and reporting within the Engine Business finance team.

You will develop reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI, assist with financial analysis, and help automate processes while gaining exposure to multiple areas of finance.

This 12-month placement starts Summer 2027 and requires working toward an Accounting or Finance degree with familiarity with Zoom and Teams.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related subject.
• Excellent IT skills, especially Excel and Microsoft.
• Willingness to challenge the norm and look for improvements.
• Proficient with collaboration tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities: journal prep, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI.
• Assist with financial analysis, forecasting and business project work.
• Help automate and standardise finance processes and prepare management summaries.
• Collaborate with placement peers on community and cross-functional projects.
