Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Darlington, United Kingdom, is seeking a proactive Placement Student in Operations Management or Data Science to join the engine manufacturing team for a 12-month placement starting Summer 2027.

You will work on KPI compilation, use AI, Minitab and Excel to prepare data, design studies to capture manufacturing data, analyze performance to improve capacity and efficiency, and support budgeting and employee records administration.

Qualifications

Working towards a degree in Business Management, Data Science, or related disciplines with a desire to build your career within Operations Management.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of Power BI and Minitab. Quick to learn IT systems.
Ability to present data effectively
Career interest in Operations Management.

Responsibilities

Interacting with internal and external stakeholders
Compiling and distributing Key Performance Indicators.
Using AI, Minitab and Excel to prepare data.
Design studies and systems to capture manufacturing data to understand performance.
Analyze manufacturing data providing key recommendations for improving capacity and efficiency.
Compile and conduct analysis on departmental budgets
Completing administration of employee records
